I’m Cool With Live Comedy (There’s a Catch)

There’s been a debate in the Atlanta comedy scene about whether or not live shows should come back. I was very against it at first, but then got infected with Covid-19. It kicked my ass for two straight weeks, but my perspective has changed.

The first reason I feel comfortable doing comedy again is that I was symptomatic. Forty six percent of cases are asymptomatic meaning you could have it, not know it, and then continue spreading it. Knowing that if I were to get sick again and that I’d have symptoms, I could quarantine immediately without much risk of spreading it.

The second reason I’m okay with it is that I recently donated plasma. As of last Wednesday, October 14th, I tested positive for antibodies. If I were to be exposed again I’d likely be able to fight it off.

Now, I’m on the fence about whether anyone that hasn’t already had it should be doing comedy, but I’m not going to begrudge the ones that are run safely and responsibly, especially if they’re outdoors. However I do believe that if you’ve had it, it’s totally a bookable quality as you wouldn’t pose any danger to audiences or other comics.

Did I mention I’m available for bookings?
